My name is David Lawyer. I’m a husband and father of three, living in the beautiful city of Boise, Idaho. Together with my wife and high school sweetheart of 23+ years (yes, you’re reading that right), we have lived in Boise for over 20 years, where we both currently work in the technology field and raise our three, wonderfully talented and smart children.

On the beach in Ventura California

Originally from the California, coastal town of Santa Barbara, I first came to Boise in the late eighties, to attend Boise State University, where I ran track and field and studied International Relations. My wife and high school sweetheart, accompanied me, and together we made Boise our home, to raise a family and live life to the fullest. We have two boys currently in college and a daughter nearly in middle school. Besides being great students, all three kids are very talented athletes, hence a lot of our time and years past have been spent cheering them on in various athletic pursuits.

Why Pie

Why not cake, or cupcakes, or cookies? Why pie? Like many of you, some of my fondest memories growing up was the food I grew up with, and one of my favorite desserts was grandma’s apple pie. It had that distinct sugary-apple, cinnamon-vanilla aroma, that wafted up and around the house when she baked, that would wake us from the deepest slumber in the early morning. I would eat and eat until my stomach was pulled tight and then at first opportunity, eat some more. I could never get enough of it.

As you can see, the name PIE ADDICT not only fits my hopeless addiction to pie over the years, but also very much resonates with others who like pie. I have seen more often than not, that if someone likes pie, they typically REALLY like pie.

The blog PIE ADDICT came about after a long period of soul searching, and building up the confidence to take my love, adoration, respect and addiction for pie mainstream. The site and ‘coming out’ as an aspiring ‘pie-baker’ was well received and the reaction from friends and family has been nothing short of fantastic!

What You Will Find on Pie Addict

This blog is where my passions and obsessions with food, pie in particular, food photography, sharing and discussing recipes, building relationships and partnerships with other food bloggers and food writing all converge. My hope is that PIE ADDICT will become another, most-awesome of baking resources, that will help inspire and spur creativity with its readers.

Need some help please….I want to make about 100 deep fried apple pies for Church Homecoming on Sunday. If I make the fried pies (with Pillsbury refrigerator pie crusts) on Friday, how do I keep them? In the fridge – on the counter top – wrapped – covered. I cannot make them on Saturday, so Friday is the day.. Will these keep until 1200 noon Sunday?

    Thanks for any help

Wrap them up and keep them in the fridge. No point to freeze them since they only need to keep a day or so.
